I tried Honey Bear Golden Ale from the Jasper Brewing Company in Alberta, Canada, and most recently it was Tankhouse Ale from Mill Street Brewery in Toronto. There’s the unfiltered wheat from Boulevard Brewing in Kansas that looked rather odd because it was cloudy when most of us are used to clear beer, but it was delicious. My list of beers explored is still quite puny, but it’s a start. It’s like Foodspotting (another favorite travel app) but just for beer. When I travel, the Untappd beer exploration app on my phone comes in quite handy. I do know what I like, which is usually some sort of ale, even if I don’t yet know the language to describe it (although I can say “hoppy,” because who wouldn’t want to throw around a fun word like “hoppy?”) Beer flight at Flossmoor Station Restaurant and Brewery just outside Chicago, Illinoisįull confession: I’m not beer-savvy like fellow Perceptive Travel blogger Brian Spencer, who can rattle off posts about craft beer in Singapore.
